Autem is a material and visual experimentation with marble and mirrors. The
project is an investigation into the relationship between volume, mass, and perception.
Can we unbundle a material from its defining characteristics, without alienating its perception and meaning? The first
piece of the investigation explores these
relations, confronting the manufacturing limits of
both marble and glass to create an alteration of their characteristics. Can marble
be light? Can glass be not fragile?
